STEPHANIE DIBIASE, MSW, RSW
she/her
Hello! My name is Stephanie DiBiase and I am the founder of Grandwell Counselling. I offer counselling virtually, so that you can take that first step towards wellness from the comfort of your own home.

I am a Registered Social Worker with over ten years experience working in community mental health and addictions. My clinical experience in primary care has focused on helping individuals of all ages who are living with addiction, mood disorders and chronic stress. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing difficulties and stress related to life transitions, as well as those who struggle with managing healthy boundaries in relationships.

As a passionate Social Worker, my goal is to help you navigate through difficult emotions and situations. I am flexible in my approach and use collaboration as the basis of my therapy—ensuring a relaxed, safe environment where we can work together on your goals.

"It is the relationship that heals."

THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES
My approach to counselling is trauma-informed and strength-based. My style is eclectic, meaning I use skills from several therapeutic modalities. I truly believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach, therefore your treatment plan will be individually tailored to your specific needs and counselling goals. While the application of evidence-based treatment is important, I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life. Sometimes, all that is needed is hope and a fresh perspective.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY
Mindfulness. Emotion Regulation. Interpersonal Effectiveness. Distress Tolerance.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a behaviour based therapy that focuses on teaching core skills to cope with, and change unhealthy behaviours. The goal is to help you manage intense emotions, cope with distress and cultivate healthy relationships.
Find the balance between acceptance through mindfulness, and change through behaviour modification.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based therapy that helps you shift your energy towards healing, instead of focusing on the negative. The goal is to gain coping mechanisms that are specific to your life, so that you can handle challenges as they arise.
